I picked up this little beauty, here in Canton at the flea market, last summer. I looked at it several times, circled the vendors stall a few times, popped over to check the price tag...it's a twin size, $125.00, hand quilted. Finally offered the vendor $75.00, listened to ranting and raving and how much this quilt means to her...and then she took the $75.00. So goes the wheeling and dealing of a flea market. Good times.
**DISCLAIMER**1) the vendor was @ 25 y/o, and not the quilter. 2) had no idea of the pattern name or it's age. 3) the quilt does have a white-white background, blogger is just trying to make me look weird today!
Gotta love a bargain...... especially a pretty one....
ReplyDeleteSmart shopper, clever wheeler-dealer, beautiful find. It brings to mind a scene from the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" when the young girls steal a parking space from Kathy Bates w/ a smart alec quip about her age ... she responds by slamming into their car a bunch of times w/ a smart quip about their age. Remember? Still makes me LOL !! Cheers ...
ReplyDeleteI remember that part of Fried Green Tomatoes. so funny!
ReplyDeletegreat buy Elaine...you're a clever girl.
The part of the story the young vendor left out was why she had this valuable hierloom quilt at the flea market to begin with!
